Wishlists for the 767 - Add your own too!
Jun 25th, 2012, 10:48am

The 767 is one of my favourite boeings and i would surely love to see it free of problems  Wink  The 767-200ER is my joy on my long long 6500nm rides.

So here it goes...

- The VOR radios shouldn't be able to tune ILS frequencies. This happens on the real 767. You shouldn't be able to tune 110.90 or 109.50 or 109.10 which are ILS frequencies and yet you can. ILS frequencies should be tuned on the ILS radio alone, or in the FMC.

- The rotating knobs should be much more responsive this is VERY important for the aircraft operation. It's a pain to set an altitude of 37000ft or to get the speed on the MCP right. Same applies for the decision height. These knobs should move FAST and by action of the mouse wheel or right/left mouse buttons. When setting up the 767 for descent, you can't spend 1 minute waiting for the DH to reach the desired value. The altitude on the MCP should also move by 1000ft in some spots and by 100ft in another or we should be able to select them. Suggestion: in the thousands part of the display (37000), the altitude would move by thousands up and down, and on the hundreds part of the display (37000), it would move by hundreds.

- The top of descent sometimes gets confused or does not appear. If you select a certain approach (RWY + STAR + Transition or another combination) and later want to delete it to configure a different approach, the T/D will not appear sometimes or the ND will display weird routing. The FMC will also display some waypoints that cannot be deleted or edited. The whole approach routine on the FMC should be revised to check what's happening here.

- Fix the annoying Gear Up sound. It's not using the correct sample.

- Cockpit lighting on the 767-200 is not correct. It's okay on the -300.

Captain Sim, please address these issues and some others that were posted previously by other users - It's not that much to ask and probably simple to do. This is a great aircraft, it's nearly perfect (as far as the simulator allows) and we all would like to have a perfect 767 on FSX  Wink

Thank you.

The sound to start wasn't "in my own opinion" very relaistic, of course this changes for everyone else and depends on the speaker arrangment too. Anyways, Some things like the landing gear up/down and touchdown sounds could be changed.

I agree with being able to set the Altitude in either 100s or thousands of feet.

So far the FMC has worked very well for me. There are some few minor bugs but otherwise it's good. A chart that we could use for accurate CG calculations would be very usefull too!

Scroll down about half way for an idea on the charts:

The topic looks more inviting now Nuno! Wink

This one is the main one that really bothers me. I have cancelled some flights because I can't get the 757 to give a T/D and lower altitudes (the cruise altitude appears after a much lower altitude constraint). Sad

The gear up sound is fine in mine. Shocked

I know what you mean about the FMC calulating the approach phase wrong in the 757, Mark. It's annoying that it doesn't always calculate an appropriate descent, but when it does that I just enter my own altitude at for when the aircraft reaches that waypoint.

Not as bad in the 767 though.

Hmmm. I seem to have the same problems with the FMC in the 757, 767 and 777, so I assume they are using the same code, or very similar code. Huh

I have reinstalled the 767 SO many times and i always get the warning sample instead of gear up. I don't know what to do anymore  Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

This happened too on the laptop (installed there 3 or 4 times just to make sure).

You mean the gear warning horn? That is weird....  Huh

I get the gear down/up sound ok, it was on take off when I selected the gear up that the seatbelt chime would sound continuously, so I removed it.

For the FMC on the 767, once in a while it rocks while on descent, although the last time it was battling some nasty weather.

There is an awful sound that I get when the flaps are set at (I think) 15 degrees or more, the throttles are at IDLE and my landing gear is UP. But other than that, no problems with the gear raising or lowering sound. Undecided

I use a custom soundset based on the default 767 GE; new gear up/down, flaps, autopilot disc warn. New sounds from various other soundpacks. You all would love them, plus I deleted the APU idle sound, and a couple of warning sounds to avoid awful alarms when throttle idle/flap ext./gear up. Or when you disengage the A/Throttle for example.

I'll ask (again) for two things.

First, all three Autopilot profiles should be on after you hit the APP switch, I know they're on at 1,500' MSL but after LOC and APP I'm like :@ as thy don't illuminate. This would be an awesome detail, please I know you can do it! Grin Wink
Here is a video where you can see an approach in a B763, look at the master autopilot switches after the captain shouts out Approach! and hits the APP mode.

Second, and the thing I've requested the most, the blended winglets size fix... I think this pic is enough

Yeah how could i forget about the Winglets... That is also a characteristic of a Boeing, huge winglets.

Since i've lost all faith on the 777, i hope the 767 will see a worthy update sometime soon. CS should really finish their releases before embarking in other projects - We have a lot of unfinished aircraft and could have 1 or 2 less but finished and working great...

Fix the APU sound in the cockpit, way to loud! Smiley
Another wish would be that the autoland function would be fixed (If I didn't do anything wrong) last time I was established and the A/P said it was landing did I have a sink rate of -2000fpm at touchdown.

I would also love to see someone from CS acknowledge our requests, saying whether we can count on them or not. Feedback is always nice and we are getting nothing lately...

Okay, here's another issue:

The cabin lights seem to be tied to the tail logo lights. It would be nice to have independent control for both, since we have independent switches for them. Unless this is how the real aircraft operates and that i wouldn't know.

The logo light is a seperate switch (well in the Q400 anyways  Huh).

I figure we will hear back from Captain Sim when the 777 is delevered and the 757 rebuild program is started.

The seems and radar reflector strips on the nose would be good too, as NaMcO mentioned in another post.
