777 sound
Oct 04th, 2011, 8:29am

It would be great if the 777 had different sound for different camera views, I know that It is almost impossible to capture different sounds for every view. But I have one area of concern in particular- the wing view. From what is have seen (apart from very few exceptions- the new precision manuals’ 737 )- most aircraft use the same sound that is captured from an external point- it just gets incredibly loud because the view is very close to the engine. Having a sound set that is captured from inside of the plane near the wings will result in a much better experience when fly with the passenger’s pov.

If it too difficult to capture three separate sounds packs from different section, It would be great if the cockpit sounds could be used in the wing view. I absolutely hate it when I change views from something to the wing view and the sound is the same as the external view but insanely loud- thus I have to constantly change the volume of my speakers.

I would be absolutley great if this could be the configuration. E.g. the cockpit sounds with diffrent flap noise and possibly a universal passenger saftey annoucement to fit all airlines.

This is configuation is better than most other addon planes and this configuration makes more logical sence aswell because the interior noise will be more appropriate for a passenger sitting next to the wing seat.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to make a sound like that.
Here are how sound cones work.
Inside cone angle stands for where you will be able to hear the specific sound (such as whine or groan) while outside cone angle represents where you can't hear this sound.
Second post with more details...

Heading sets the direction where the volume is the highest for the specific sound. Pitch sets the angle from the ground. And I made a mistake on the picture, and angle of five would be up.

Thank you very much,

I think you may have misunderstood my point,

My point is that in most other fsx add-on airplanes you will hear the same sound in the wing view to the sound that you would hear while standing outside the aircraft, my argument is that- the experience in terms sound, is somewhat un-realistic because the interior sounds are considerably different to the exterior due to the insulation inside the aircraft.

As a matter of fact- precision manuals development groups’ 737ngx has this sound variance (interior wing view is different to the exterior), which is much more immersive.

in short- the wing view should sound like you are sitting in side the cabin (not like sitting outside on the wing- its way too loud and sharp)
