RESET Product Activation
28.07.2010 at 12:27:42

Dear CaptainSim Staff,

I need you to, please, reset all my product activation(s); as I'm getting Brand NEW Motherboards from my recently RMA'ed ones.  I have no choice but to reinstalling everything, so I plan on installing Windows 7 (64-bit) and FSX from scratch; you might recall that I was using Vista 64-bit before.  I am unable to use the original installation HDD image(s) into these new systems/OS' and can no longer just re-activate many of my addon products via just their registry entries.

Also, I recall you stated in a post somewhere, that not all the installers were W7 compatible yet; Correct?  Are they any other special instructions/warning/suggestions?  And, do I need to create a Ticket for this request?

Thank you!

James,
Basicly your questions are already answered. You get new system then just redownload and install all your products. If Order Numbers are locked or you have issues with installation in Win7 - then please use online services in Technical Support Section of your profile.

Dear CaptainSim Staff,

So, your saying that if I redownload, the "newer" installers will work with Windows 7 on the new systems without further intervention from you; correct?

Thank you.

Hi James.

I bought many of my Captain Sim aircraft when I was still using Windows XP Professional 32bit. When I bought Windows 7 Professional 64bit, I simply ran the installers I already had. They worked perfectly for me. I did not download any new installers (except for the new SP releases). NONE (and I do mean NONE) of my FSX addons (scenery, aircraft, flight planners or my development tools) have ever given me a problem with my move to Windows 7. All the codes/serials I originally received for them, which was when I was using Windows XP, work fine on Windows 7.

Hope this helps.

Mark
