Flap Aileron Droop
28.08.2009 at 21:27:12

Hey,
I have one thing that has been bugging me ever since the CS 767 was released, and after 3 major versions is still not fixed.

That is the aileron droop with flaps.  In the real 767, the inner ailerons droop after applying flaps 5+.  I am not sure why this has not been modeled in the CS 767.

EDIT: I have one more thing pertaining to ailerons - I am not completely sure about this, but I believe after the aircraft is going at a speed of over 278 kts. the outboard ailerons are locked and only the inner ailerons function.

Thanks,
robbier

Hi again,
Is there any chance I could get an update on if this problem is being addressed in a future update?

Many thanks,
Robbier

Robbier,

You read my mind.  The Aileron situation is bugging the squat out of me too.  I hope Captainsim will correct this bug soon.

It's been a while since this has been replied, so I'll put my opinion in. I think it looks quiet odd when you compare it to the real thing, this would be one of the few problems that can be fixed. I think we should get it fixed so it looks better.

I am glad this thread got boosted to the top again, this issue is really bugging me (after almost 9 months).

I am not sure if this is just me or not, but does anyone else notice that control surface movement is not equal?  While on the ground, if I deflect my joystick fully left, then fully right, the aileron movement on each wing actually looks different and not symmetrical.  My joystick is fully calibrated.

Anyone bothered to take a look here http://captainsim.com/cgi-bin/kb.pl?p=b767&i=27#q4384 ?

The thing is being worked on, so no more "boosting to the top again" is needed. At least I honestly don't think it would change anything much.

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but it has been months since they have had an update. I know, they have alot to do, but I'm thinking that a few months should be enough time. I may be wrong.

For this one definitely yes, but there are 7 other bugs "on the list for the next upgrade" only for the 767. A couple of months still should be enough, but there are other planes that need fixing too. I don't know if they are fixing them one by one, or all of them at the same time. But as far as I know the Captain Sim team isn't really very big. So if you combine: many bugs in different planes + little number of people able to fix the bugs + time needed to diagnose and fix the bugs; then you will get months of waiting. I'll be positively surprised if I get the upgrade by the end of summer, but I don't see any point in "hurry up" posts. I don't think that if they had the upgrade ready right now, they would just keep it for themselves and enjoy our impatience on the forum. Every customer wants the upgrade as fast as possible, including me. But I don't think that it changes anything in terms of time left.
