Hi Franham

Sound works fine for all my CS products in Prepar3D.

Open the FSX DLL.xml file and copy the follow the appropriate Captain Sim entries, they look like these:

 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 520 Menu</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\520\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 707 Sound</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\707\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 727 Menu</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\727\Captain_Sim.p727.menu.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 737 Sound</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\737\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim Menu</Name>
   <Disabled>True</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\Captain_Sim.b757.menu.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 757 Sound</Name>
   <Disabled>True</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\757\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 767 Menu</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\Captain_Sim.b767.menu.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 767 Sound</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\767\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 777 Sound</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\777\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>

and paste them in the P3D DLL.xml file.

Note. In the Windows RUN command (Windows Key + R), type this: %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml, to open the FSX DLL.xml file, and type this: %AppData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d\dll.xml to open the P3D DLL.xml file.

As I said above, this one:

 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 767 Menu</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\Captain_Sim.b767.menu.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>

can be left out as it is used to open ACE, which only works for FSX. And this one, for the 757, can also be left out:

 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim Menu</Name>
   <Disabled>True</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\Captain_Sim.b757.menu.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>

for the same reason as the one for the 767

Edited:
This one:

 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 727 Menu</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\727\Captain_Sim.p727.menu.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>

for the 727 can be removed or left out for the same reason as the same ones for the 757 and 767. This one doesn't even show up in FSX anyway, because the Captain_Sim.p727.menu.dll is not installed with v2.4 of the Captain Sim 727. Sad

Hi Mark,

I decided to give it a try, and I have done everything except the copying and pasting of the XML files. I copied the XML files from FSX into NOTEPAD, but I cannot seem to PASTE them into Prepar3D. Could you please give this dummy a step by step on how to do this, since the normal way of copying and pasting does not seem to work. thank.  Sad  Waiting for your expert advice.

2  737 Captain / 737 Captain 1.x / PEOPLExpress for the -100?

It seems as if all of the attention for the 737 has gone to the -200 and its variants. But personally I would love to see this livery for the -100 model.

I guess the good part of that story is that the plane had a great sense of exactly where in the world it was, so it would always know how to to there (wherever you were going) from here (wherever you are)!
The downside was not to move the planes without turning the IRS on, or taking an IRS unit from one plane to another.

How would they ever have gotten the other 2 IRS units to align properly?

Another side to the reason for the delay in the next SP, is that the developers have real lives with jobs.
Sometimes real life events cause delays. Going by the About Captain Sim web page, the main members of the development team are pilots with jobs. Be it as a Fighter Pilot or an Airline Pilot. I think that having time, more than money, is the problem.

can it or does any body have a file?

I guess you would need a mod. But like Patrick, why on earth would you want put the engines in reverse when in flight?
I would imagine it can't be done in real life, or the 777 would fall out of the sky if if it was done accidentally. Shocked

Enroute, we stopped at Darwin for fuel, then onto Sydney.  A buddy and I stayed at a little hotel at Bronte Beach.  Had a picnic on the Beach Christmas morning.  We also took the train out to Katoomba to visit the national park there.  We were both pilots, so one day we visited a small airport west of town and had a local flight instructor give us a chance to fly a Beagle, a small British built airplane that we were interested in.  I actually went a second time and stayed in the Kings Cross area, but didn't have as much fun because I was by myself.  I loved the people.  They were so friendly.

My father was in the RAAF and stationed at Tindal, about 220 miles south of Darwin, in 1970 (I was 12). In 1971, Dad was posted to Richmond (a Sydney suburb). Dad was posted to a new place every year, so we were always on the move.

Back on subject.

Just figured away to do it.  Start with a new ac ready for to at Sea, select desired ac, turn on everything on the overhead panel including the IRS, reload flight plan and reprogram the route on the FMS.  Then on map mode, reset the flight to the Altitude, as, heading and lat and long, date and time from where you last left off.  Got to get the gear up fast but it seams to work and not take too awfully long.

I will have to try this for myself. At least it will be a way of continuing long haul flights after a save. Not as easy as a saved panel state would be though.

Any buisness thinks for the future to keep the funds coming in and not begging existing customers to pay for the product AGAIN!! or buy other products to keep have the funds to finish a product theres just no logic in the matter

If the company wants more money they should think about more advertising
and building better relationships with their current customers and not have existing faults passed on in a new built add-on

It's like me starting my own company making aircrafts and just going by the funds what people give me when they buy the product unfinished and stating can customers buy the product again as i need money to finish a service pack.

Look forums are for opinions and ideas and on this one i'm sharing my opinion and if i get chewed up and laughed at (As you call it) then so be it i have teeth i can bite back!

and yes i have already showed my support i have the 757 and the 777 which was expensive when i bought it from 0.2 39.99euros so i think i've contributed enough in that matter

but heyyyy who said they are struggling which i doubt they are the amount of customer base they have especially for the 777 who bought the product for 60odd euro's

Lets not let this become the competitor's forums where if you bring up a radical or different idea, you get chewed up and laughed at. Show some respect to the idea, it actually makes some sense.

Captain Sim has released some well detailed aircraft, aircraft that really aren't developed elsewhere to the detail of CS, take for instance, the 707, 737, 727, etc. Yet, that comes at a cost, and their latest full release, the 777, has some tough competition, but I admire their great release regardless, it is quite a nice product, with a great level of visual detail. So it might not draw in the great profit (who knows though). Back to the point though, do I think we should all go buy it again to support the company? Well it depends on what you want to see. Depending on the sales, I would assume that those would reflect the attention and number of updates issued by CS for the 777. If they say that if many people buy the product, we will continue to improve it, then maybe that is an idea. An example is the B-52, CS stated that if there is enough interest in the exterior model, an interior might be developed.

I think though that buying another product just to support the company may be an okay idea, but a user-ran giveaway to support CS and help gain outside interest (so not only maybe giving CS a one time payment from previous owners, but increasing payments from new customers). There are people who trash CS who probably only read the comments and look at the pictures, but never personally paid for and flown the aircraft.

So hey, if the community wants to help give the developer more funds to help improve products, then maybe instead of just buying it for ourselves, maybe we could make a contest like system to draw in new pilots, and help expand the community. That is just an idea though, and who knows if funds are needed, or instead support and backing
