It'd be nice - INS Civa in the VC ?

I absolutely agree with you that a original Captain Sim integration would be best, but I doubt that they can make that gauge (e. g. CDU1) work in the VC and as separate 2D panel at the same time.

As I mentioned in the thread about the 727 INS integration, placing that CDU1 gauge twice isn't the whole job.
The CIVA manual also states, that only one (CDU1) gauge at a time can be displayed and therefor will work.

So you have to go for VC-only (zooming in, typing your stuff or using the keyboard input) or 2D-only (which should be more comfortable to work with).
The other dev that has both variants running at the same time did a major rework of the gauge to enable this mode.

I don't know if Captain Sim is up to this challenge right now, for the first service pack. There are some other things to fix first, I think.

I've tried a double installation (VC and 2D of CDU1) in the 727 and the gauge worked as explained in the CIVA manual: one does not, the other did.
So a nice VC integration with the opportunity to work with a 2D popup too isn't that easy.

Let us both hope that Captain Sim goes for this wish and until then everybody can decide if they use the given panel.cfg or the modified one with the two independent CDU units and those update flags.

I'll tune that stuff a bit to get the buttons in the simicon panel, I missed that point in the current version.
Will update my post with the modification soon - DONE, now with the nice buttons at the simicons panel, backlit version.

Thanks again for the fast answers

I totally believe you when talking about that pressure gauge, I just wanted to show where I got my information from.
As you said, the manuals containing the checklist might need some revision.

EPR bugs in the Captain Sim product would be nice, see that as a wish

Hello

This is my new video I captured and edited with a nice music. It is video of my 767 emergency landing with only one (right) engine. Left engine catched on fire so I had to turn everything needed to extinguish off and land immediately. It was very difficult for me to do everything right and land clearly. I did it at my fifth try. The plane is very unstable especially when flaps are extended and the most unstable when landing gears are extended. It slows so much and turns left (or right when right engine out) very much, so I have to extend gears very late to keep the speed and ballance.

Does anyone have some real emergency manuals in pdf? I would like to learn some basics.

I hope I will get some money for the ATPL in the future, because I love flying.

The video is encoded in high quality and bitrate 1920x1080, but youtube reduced the quality just a little (more than a little)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-fLLsU0plM

Will there be any sale at all? I can imagine that the 707, the B-52, and your other release will rack up quite the price for X-mas

Hi,
I had exactly the same problem just after the first installation.
(Morover my computer's specs are very close to yours, W7 64b, ram 12 Go, Nvidia gtx 260 1.8go, hd 2t raid0 ... )
As long s I remember, I believe that I had just reinstalled the 707 over itself and the landing gears came back after it.
But it seems that you've already done it
Hope it'll work for you anyway

jcmic

For a long time after the initial installation I would do an autoland at 30 degrees flaps and speed per the FMC. It was always a hard landing. Then I switched to flaps 25 degrees and speed per the FMC. These landings were very smooth.

After I had to reinstall several weeks ago, the 25 degrees plus FMC speed resulted in hard landings. I added 2-5 knots in increments to vref but it made no difference. Then I tried the slight rotation at 50 feet; that helped a lot. Now the 25 degrees plus FMC speed seems to be coming back to what it was before the reinstall. Go figure.

Michael Cubine

Dear

I thank you for your reply. But I think that captainSim could have much more customer with introducing a complete Tuto by each plane. Lots of my friend hesitate to buy due this "problem".

Just for the idea.

Guillaume (France)
