CDU1) work in the VC and as separate 2D panel <u>at the same time</u>.<br /><br />As I mentioned in the thread about the 727 INS integration, placing that CDU1 gauge twice isn't the whole job.<br />The CIVA manual also states, that only one (CDU1) gauge at a time can be displayed and therefor will work.<br /><br />So you have to go for VC-only (zooming in, typing your stuff or using the keyboard input) <u>or</u> 2D-only (which should be more comfortable to work with).<br />The other dev that has both variants running at the same time did a major rework of the gauge to enable this mode.<br /><br />I don't know if Captain Sim is up to this challenge right now, for the first service pack. It is video of my 767 emergency landing with only one (right) engine. Left engine catched on fire so I had to turn everything needed to extinguish off and land immediately. It was very difficult for me to do everything right and land clearly. It was always a hard landing. Then I switched to flaps 25 degrees and speed per the FMC. These landings were very smooth.<br /><br />After I had to reinstall several weeks ago, the 25 degrees plus FMC speed resulted in hard landings. I added 2-5 knots in increments to vref but it made no difference. Then I tried the slight rotation at 50 feet; that helped a lot. Now the 25 degrees plus FMC speed seems to be coming back to what it was before the reinstall.
