Starting engines

From CS: it should work as described in the Manual.
Let's make this the only topic to share your experience/findings on the engine start procedure.

======

So when you first load the plane at a gate or stand the engines are basically running and you have to switch it off and run APUA to simulate plane on APU.

But then after push back engine wouldn't start anymore and I have to reload the aircraft so systems would be running again and I will be able to ignite engines.

Aside from clicking engine to engine number of choice and starter to gnd I also have the packs off and Apu bleed and engine bleeds to on. But nothing. Entire plane is quite even the Apu.

Any point I may be missing here or could it be a bug?

Thanks

I'm  not having this problem (or not seen it yet in v1.0), so it might be a bug.

I had the engine problem too and posted on the bug tracker board. I suggest you post this there as well Smiley

I also had this problem, but make sure the isolation valve is on, and try the left engine first.

SOP for most other Boeing aircraft is:

1. Start APU, activate bleeds
2. Set Isolation Valve to on
3. Start right engine
4. Set Isolation Valve to off
5. Start left engine

I'd guess the 757 isn't going to be any different! Smiley

Hang and non responsive GND control on engine startup. Aircraft would not initiate the engine start in either engine regardless of APU air, external packs off, isolation valve was also on.

After countless attempts to start engines with no response the sim hanged and CTD.

Had this too:

1. Sat for 10-15 minutes on turnaround (ground power mostly, with APU for last 5 mins) from default start.
2. Went to pushback with GSX (icing), can only start engines once you've pushed-back.
3. Once pushed-back I tried to crank the engines, the N2 jumps up to 4 (along with the oil pressure) before sinking to 0. No amount of fiddling with the bleeds got any life.

I too had the engine start issue. Engines were started when i first loaded the 757. I made sure Ground power was connected (APU may have already been on as well), and shut down the engines using the normal cutoff procedure.
Made sure APU was started at gate, programmed FMC, ran preflight etc, made sure APU bleed was on, pressure looked good, pushed back with GSX, turned off packs, went to start engines and...... nothing. Kept messing with packs, bleeds etc, and could not for the life of me get the engines started. Sad
For reference, I was at KORD and it was quite cold.
I knew going in this was a beta, so hopefully we can work around this.  Smiley

If someone could list exactly what he does from the moment the C&D flight loads that'd help a lot. As we suspect a user error rather than a bug.

Also a video at https://screencast-o-matic.com/ would be just great.

I'm also having the same issue.  Following SOP as outlined above the engine cranks but I only get up to an N1 of 3.9 and an oil pressure of 40.

Hello, Cool

I've bought the 757 today, I've flew it this evening from KSFO to KSAN with no worries, but this night I wasn't able to fly because of the engine start bug, so good bye my CYYZ - KEWR... Angry

I follow the FCOM procedures of a very know american airline so this is not my fault I guess.

Thanks by advance. Wink
