I don't expect the autopilot to be perfect, but how does one expect to accept the fact that, at times, the autopilot appears to lose focus on its own?
One example, while making a steep turn as part of a gps controlled flight, the plane went into a steep dive and, despite my clicking the VS knob or moving the trim wheel, the plane crashed.
I just don't understand it.
There's never been a thorough explanation of what can interfere with the autopilot, and I wish someone would explain it to me.
