Thank you very much for this info Mustang1977!  Smiley

I will eventually get to try it out, but I will wait until I get back from my overseas holiday in 4 weeks time! Grin

That's easier said than done! Grin

Flying in FSX/FSX-SE/P3D is a bit hard at the moment, as I don't have a joystick to use with my laptop. I was hoping to buy one here, as the weight of my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro would have added extra weight to my luggage, and I was already very close to the limit, but I haven't found a single one yet. Sad

Also, I only have the Captain Sim products installed where they are designed to go, so I can help as best as I can for the main issues people have with them. Undecided

HA! FIXED in P3D v3.4! Oh yes my holly old lady, I will bring you up to P3D Skies now  Grin xD

BUT, there is also a bad news, but first the good one:

After the fix i've stable Frames between 60-70 in the VC and Interior (outside around the plane in my Desert-Testing Area a bit over 100).

And now the bad news: It's the doppler-gauge. So you have to look about an alternative (CIVA INS?). I used the doppler nav in combination with the GPS so that the 707 follows automatically an (self created) flightplan. Maybe a NAV/GPS Switch helps, but this I have to test it first.

So, here's the fix - it's VERY SIMPLE:

1. Open the panel.cfg of the 707
2. Go to [VCockpit10] Section and place a Semicolon ; before gauge nr. 27.

It should look like this:

;gauge27=Captain_Sim.x707.dns!main, 1,1

After this the 707 should be FULLY OPERATIONAL and ready to fly in P3D 3.4! YESS  Cheesy

A Second hint: Don't turn on the Weather Radar! This costs around 12 FPS.

I hope that Captain Sim will bring a fix for the doppler-gauge! This gauge can't be opened with FS Panel Studio (it says that it is an invalid gauge), I don't know why this gauge kills the 707 in P3D  Huh

It certainly seems to work, I did a partial flight - as in I took off, flew around for about 30 minutes, then ended the flight - and the fps remained at between 45 fps and 60 fps the whole time. In previous flights, within 30 minutes, the frame rate would have dropped to around 10fps, or less.

Thanks for figuring it out.  Smiley

My pleasure  Smiley

But CS should made an up to date Version for the Doppler-Gauge in P3D.

But for the next few years - xD  Tongue - we should use an improved NAV/GPS Switch, so the 707 can follow normal Flightplans without problems. A good solution is to add the switch in the [Window00] Section:

gauge05=Beech_Baron!NAV GPS Switch,  26,661,27,64

The "gauge05" should be the next number.

Hi, the advice about the Doppler is absolutely correct. But a second issue is arised. From the VC (func9) view, I see in the outside, "flashing" images of rectangles and the terrain too "flashes" - sorry, but I don't know how to explain it in a better way -. Anyone else has the same problem? it's a real pity, the 707 should be a P3D compatible software!

I had that problem in FSX. I used to reload the 707 and they disappeared. I haven't tied this in P3Dv3 yet (being slack). Once I got to having the newer Graphics Cards, like the GTX 770, or even the GTX 470, I didn't have it happening in FSX any more.

No matter what, I still think we will need to wait for an update for the 707 to address this problem. Undecided

Yes Mark, you're right. It's useless to force things. Let's wait (and hope, of course). Who knows, maybe some people in CaptainSim will read, before or after, our pleas.
  Thanks again, Mark

Bought it today and following Mustang advise I succeeded to have it in P3Dv3.
After a first flight I must say that I love this aircraft  Cheesy

Just a few issues:

  • No smoke for the engines
Airspeed indicator sometimes reset to 0 and come back after a few seconds
    taxi lights not operating

Cheers

Have you checked if the Smokesystem is on (usually Hotkey "i")?

When does this happen? This could be a Temp-Problem (Pitot Heat?)

I also recommend the V-One Panelmod for the 707 after a fresh install - this gives you much more experience  Smiley

Thanks Mustang for your answers  Smiley

I will check for the temp issue, it could be this.
For the smoke system I did not think of the I key as I thought it was based on the thrust power setting....

Cheers  Wink
Pascal

PS: I have nearly finish a linda action file for this lady and will post it soon...

Yes, that's it. Manual integration  Cool - Runs without problems under P3D v3. Don't know if it runs with v4 too - not tested because I don't have v4.
