Fuel consumption of 727-200
Apr 30th, 2016 at 11:48pm
Print Post
Good evening,

I'm intending tomorrow morning do a VOR based flight from GCHI to FTTJ, about 2.100 miles and 04h:40m flight at FL310.
I've been looking at the manuals and i'm not sure if this variant of 727 can reach the destination safely. Anyone knows the hour fuel consumption of 727-200? The tanks holds 51.188 Lbs
Thanks in advance

According to Wikipedia, the 727-200 has a maximum range of 1,700 nm (3,100 km), so your flight might be too long for it. Sad

You're right, i'll try do the flight with another plane and in another leg during this Africa trip i'll use the loved 727, thanks Markoz!

I've tested the 727-200 up to 3.300 Nm at a cruising alt of 40.500 ft (very few payload). This my be unrealistic, but in FSX it is possible  Wink

2.100 Nm should be really NO PROBLEM.

You could stop over to Diori Hamani International Airport (DRRN) and refuel (1414.6nm). Then fly to FTTJ from there.

If the flight is a charter flight, it's not so unrealistic at all. Wink

In all honesty, I can't remember the longest distance flight I have done in the 727-200, but that's probably because I fly the 727-100 much more often. :/
