Sorry sixty4, can't answer that one.
But I'm wondering if anyone's CIVA INS keys make a sound when pressed.  I just recently reinstalled the B707 on a new drive and thought they used to, or am I hearing things? Shocked

You need to press F10 (the default key) to go to, or press SHIFT+A until you get to, the 2D Cockpit, so that the CIVA-INS initializes. Then press F9 (the default key) to return to the Virtual Cockpit, and the CIVA-INS should work fine.

To avoid having to go to the 2D Cockpit to initialize the CIVA-INS,  I modified the panel.cfg the following way...

Change the [Window00] entry from this:

[Window00]
file=bg.bmp
background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=1024,768
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=7
visible=1
ident=MAIN_PANEL
render_3d_window=0
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
window_pos= 0.000, 0.000
gauge00=Captain_Sim.x707.sys!main, 0,0, 2,2
gauge01=Captain_Sim.x707.sound!main, 0,0,1,1,Captain_Sim\707\sound.ini
gauge02=Captain_Sim.x707.tools!icons, 0,532,24,120
gauge03=Captain_Sim.x707.gpws!main, 0,0,1,1
;CIVA
gauge04=../civa/INS!Config,         0,    0,  0, 0, csx701
gauge05=../civa/INS!NavModeSingle,  0,  652,  1, 1
gauge06=../civa/INS!CduPanelIcon,   0,  652, 24, 24, 11041
gauge07=../civa/INS!MsuPanelIcon,   0,  676, 24, 24, 11040
gauge08=../civa/INS!AdeuPanelIcon,  0,  700, 24, 24, 11042

to this:

[Window00]
file=bg.bmp
background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=1024,768
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=7
visible=1
ident=MAIN_PANEL
render_3d_window=0
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
window_pos= 0.000, 0.000
gauge00=Captain_Sim.x707.sys!main, 0,0, 2,2
gauge01=Captain_Sim.x707.sound!main, 0,0,1,1,Captain_Sim\707\sound.ini
gauge02=Captain_Sim.x707.tools!icons, 0,532,24,120
gauge03=Captain_Sim.x707.gpws!main, 0,0,1,1
;CIVA
gauge04=../civa/INS!NavModeSingle,  0,  652,  1, 1
gauge05=../civa/INS!CduPanelIcon,   0,  652, 24, 24, 11041
gauge06=../civa/INS!MsuPanelIcon,   0,  676, 24, 24, 11040
gauge07=../civa/INS!AdeuPanelIcon,  0,  700, 24, 24, 11042

Then change the [VCockpit01] entry from this:

[VCockpit01]

pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$FPSP
background_color=0,0,0

This modification means that the CIVA-INS gets initialized in the VC when the 707 first loads into FSX.

Always backup the panel.cfg BEFORE making any changes!

If you have any trouble with doing that, let me know.

I did copy everything for the 707 from FSX to FSX-SE, but since Captain Sim started updating installers to include FSX-SE, I only have those ones installed in FSX-SE.

I can install the CS 707 directly into FSX-SE to see how it goes, so that's not a problem for me at all, but I am pretty sure that the ACE won't work properly because as far as I know, it's hard coded to point to FSX. As for the SimuFly CIVA-INS, I will also have to install that to see if/how it works in FSX-SE.

The last time SimuFly updated their CIVA-INS was Version 1.51 Build 2296, October 2007, so I doubt it will ever be updated to work in FSX-SE (if it doesn't already work there). Sad

Hello Markoz, thanks for your answer. I'v deinstalled the Delco Carousel IV-A INS. From now on I fly the 707 on the "old-fashion" way, so I cannot fly the plane while doing something else Smiley and that gives me a lot of fun.

Okay. I installed the CS707 and CIVA-INS into FSX-SE, and so far it sort of works! Undecided

The CS707 is causing problems in FSX-SE. Pressing SHIFT+2, 3, etc. and nothing happens, no 2D panels show up, so I have to use the menu to access them. Pressing SHIFT+Z turns the AP on & off, yet it should display some text (including the longitude and latitude coordinates) at the top of the screen!

The CIVA-INS turns on and works, but it only aligns sometimes, so I'm having a lot of fun - NOT - trying to fly the CS707 in FSX-SE. Sad

I will uninstall/reinstall the CS707 to see if I can sort it out, otherwise I'll have to wait until it gets updated for FSX-SE.
