Some 2.6 comments

After upgrading from 2.3 -

-Sound now works. No more reloading aircraft.
-CIVA INS works a treat
but
-flaps gauge does not work (flaps DO).
-VOne commanded trim seems wrong (much higher trim up than needed)
and biggest but
-Diving upon AP engagement is still present...unless I set flight director using AP button - is this how it is in real life ?

fwiw did a full uninstall/reinstall.

Thanks

Scratch flap gauges - pilot error  Smiley

Guess my only issue is the commanded VOne trim.

I suppose CG needs to be moved ? I saw fsxpaul's tweak but figured it was not necessary as 2.6 was released after the tweak was posted on AVSIM..

Should I try that ?

Thanks

You listed 3 issues and then dropped one of them. Is this correct?

Is the 'diving' still an issue with you?

As far as the trim. Have you read the CS727_manual3? Specifically 'Liftoff and Initial Climb'? Please read and follow the procedure provided and then comment about the trim value that the V-One gauge recommends.

NOTE: (1) should be:
(1) The airplane will attain V2 approximately 35 feet above the runway.
It is NOT possible to attain V2 + 10 at 35 feet!

Yes, I have read the lot...On my 200 I have to aggressively push stick forward to avoid stalling on takeoff..and I don't even need to pull stick back for rotation...

I usually use flaps 5 for takeoff.

Did a few takeoffs with the 100. V-One trim is normal. Looks like the anomaly is only present in the 200

The low FPS of some gauges make me sick. I don't even use the 727 because of this...

To add to these comments, -200 new version (2.6) feels much better than before. After a few flights the fuel usage is good and I can reach cruising altitude (FL340).

One new bug I noticed is that in the simicons graphic when I open the graphic to control doors, the airstairs button now opens the main door, not the airstairs.

Other than that I'm very pleased with both the 100 and 200 products.

I have a fix for the -200. Captain Sim does not support these modifications (at this time anyway).

ACE will not work with this aircraft.cfg file. The passengers are full (155) and the cargo is 8000 lbs.

Use the file as is, do not cut and paste sections!

Please let me know if this mod works as you expect.

I purchased and installed the 727-200 yesterday, and did a test flight from KSEA to KSLC.  Used V-One to determine the trim setting.  Takeoff was normal; I did not have any of the trim problems you experienced.

I re-downloaded all installation files and uninstalled all 727 variants. Re-installed, ran ACE and loaded the -200 with 155 passengers and 4900 lbs of cargo.

The trim was at 7.5 for flaps 25. I needed to trim down to 4.8 to climb out properly.

The trim is indeed way off. The file I have provided (link) in my previous post will remedy this issue.

Link has been updated.

Works fine. Trim is now perfect.

Thanks Paul.

PS. If I want use ACE to load the aircraft I have to restore the rest of the [Weight and Balance] section as ACE will overwrite your tweaks right ?

Yes, ACE will overwrite all of the station locations and weights that I provided. You can manually change the container weights using the normal FSX menu fuel and payload.

Hi Paul,

just had a first test with Your cfg-modification. I had to set trim to 5.2 at flaps 5 (instead of more than 7 before), seems to work well now at the 727-200.

Thanks a lot !

Edit : And of course, many thanks also to the other members for their update of the great CS-727 !  Smiley
