SP 2.5 Discussion / Issues Thread

So hopefully everyone gets 2.5 installed and fly a few flights to see how it is working.

I seem to be having some trouble with the CIVA INS alignment.   I have read the instructions that seem to be verbatim from the L1011 manual.  I have the L1011 and have no trouble with the unit in that bird.

I follow the same instructions to get it into alignment mode. but the index never comes down from 9, and the green light never illuminates.  I can switch to NAV mode anyway, and everything works as I think it is supposed to.

I am supposed to use the new NAV/GPS switch in the GPS position in order for the AP to track the INS flight plan, right?  The new manual section says you should stay in heading mode and switch the Nav Source Selection switch to FMS, but that switch isn't actually in the 727, is it?

Your INS does the alignment correctly?  The API digit actually decreases from 9 to 5 or better?   The green ready light comes on when you get to 5?

Sorry to hear your troubles with the flaps and the CTD with the freighter.  So far I have only been testing the -100 passenger version, but I do have the freighters and will get around to testing them when I get this INS thing figured out.  If align works for you, it should work for me.  ARRRGH!!!!

You know, one thing you might try is uninstalling and deleting the CS 727 registry entries and then re-install, making sure to run as admin.

I too have no alignment problems with my installation.

Have you rebooted your computer since you've installed the 727?

Recently, I had an issue with the 737 and PDCS not working until a re-boot.

Might be worth a try.

Thanks Paul.  Restarting Windows didn't do the trick, but un-installing, registry wipe, re-installing, then immediately re-starting Windows after installing has got it sorted!

Cheesy

Did a registry clean of leftovers and now I have my gauges and the freighter is not doing anymore CTD's.
Thanks guys for reminding me to do that.

On the INS issue, I do get to 0 with the green light at 5. Just make sure your brakes are on and your gps coord are accurate. That is where I slip up sometimes, entering them correctly with leading zeros.

Run Windows File Explorer, copy this string %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX and paste it in the address bar, Enter. Do you have dll.xml in this folder? If no, reinstall 727.

I did a registry clean up after the uninstall and that fixed my issues, had some leftovers from the uninstall. They looked liked something I had added and needed to be removed because it is was causing a conflict.

I hope everyone with issues gets it working.  It sounds like purging the registry entries, and re-installing as administrator is fixing most problems.

I have got all variants working well.  It turns out that my problem with the INS alignment is caused by Active Sky Next.  The INS will not align with ASN running, but it will still go into NAV mode and operate properly from there.  Without ASN, it aligns perfectly.

This is a really great upgrade.  I love how the knobs and switches have a snappier feel to them now.  It reminds me quite a bit of the L1011.  Just crisper and better.

The only major thing I have changed is that I have reverted to the Michael2 FDE mods for all four variants.  (721, 721F, 722, 722F).  It just flies by the charts and numbers better, I think.  The FDE is improved with this update, but Michaels2 mods are still better, IMO.

The winglet feature in the animation panel is pretty nice.  I LOVE the fact that you guys threw in a little more eye candy with the "cabin cleanup" function!

Nobody beats CaptainSim for making a beautiful plane and VC.  This plane was my first payware, and it has always been a hoot to fly, especially hand-fly.  This update has really brought it up to date and added most of the goodies that the users have been adding by themselves for the last few years.

Well done, CaptainSim!   Cheesy
