L-1011 & F1 GTN 750

All,

Is there a way to slave the F1 GTN 750 to the AP? I've tried "NAV" and no luck.

Has anyone been able to couple the two?

Thanks,

ESG

Hi,
Glad you solved it, but may I ask how?
I am trying to get the AP to couple to a GPS or FMS (to help with my lazy flying days!).
Thanks,
Fabio

I'd also like to know how he got the 750 installed in the L1011.

You could install it using the F1 Config tool, but it will only be as a pop up.

It may work with the FMS selector over to the right. (setting for 3rd party CIVAS?) That would permit the Hdg bug to follow the GTN route, perhaps?

Personally, with the CIVA now able to read flight plans in pln format and therefore from PFPX, I wouldn't like to spoil the simulation.  Its a real historic gem as it is! Smiley

Thanx David - good thought. I love the 727 because it is a classic. Perhaps I should look closer at the L1011 in that regard.

Health Warning!

The following information will make the L1011 extremely addictive if you have the F1 GTN 750! Sadly, you Captains with the GTN750 may be tempted not to use the splendid CIVA again! Roll Eyes

To enable the GTN 750 in the L1011. As a Pop Up(obviously)

1. From F1 GTN Config select Lockheed L-1011 (cs_L1011)
2. Select configure.
3.GTN750 Unit 1, select "AUTOPILOT as HEADING HOLD"
Link CRS..Yes...Auto CRS..Yes...Fuel Auto...Sound On...Invert mouse wheel No...Active Mouse Yes...CPU core Auto..Play click Yes...VC Brightness 60%

Now, when you have input your GTN 750 Flight Plan. Take off and when cleaned up and after TO flow is done, select Nav Source as DNO. (Right of FMS switch) and select HDG Auto Pilot Mode, Autopilot on.

From now on the aircraft will be under the control of the GTN 750. GTN 750 set on CDI.

You may revert to VOR Nav at any time, just select VOR as Nav source. Ditto the CIVA, just select FMS/Hdg as before.

When reaching the Approach, you can fly the RNav or the ILS, whatever is available. For ILS just select A/L, or Loc/GS.

So that's is. The GTN 750 works with the L1011.

Now there is a choice of equipment. Upgrade your fleet to GPS or use the marvellous CIVA!   Wink

Best Regards

David

This does not work for me, I cannot get back control from the GTN once it is given.  Even if I turn off the AP and HDG mode then back on with source on VOR it still holds the HDG bug and follows GTN.
