CS 727-100/200 Flight Director Mod

I've made some changes to the Flight Director to improve the use and visibility.

By no means does this mod change the Flight Director to work as the one in the '60s era  aircraft.

Will update when download is available.

The Tool Tip 'Flight Director Pitch' now matches the graphical display.

Rotate the aircraft and line-up the Command Bar (yellow) with the Flight Director cue (orange), then engage then Autopilot and the aircraft will follow.

No more diving when the Autopilot is engaged.

I've downloaded it but haven't installed it yet. I seem to be losing interest is FS. Although I generally check the forums daily, I haven't flown but 8-10 times in the last couple months. Haven't flown the CS 727 for quite a long time.

Somehow the links to the original images broke.

OK...I installed it and it definitely helps.

However I had the old NAV/GPS enabled and added to my A/P panel and would like to continue using it. How can I disable Nav/GPS switch in your package ?

Thanks

Glad my free stuff is working out for you and you're welcome  Grin

Why would you want to keep using a switch that's been added to your A/P that was never intended to be there?

Have you requested of Captain Sim to disable the NAV/GPS switch they integrated in their B737 so you could add a 'switch' elsewhere?

The easiest way would be for you to delete the following folders in..
..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B727-100\panel :
Captain_Sim.p721.L07
Captain_Sim.p721.P12
Captain_Sim.p721.R07

But if you really want to keep the mod then you can delete the code in the XML file located in folder Captain_Sim.p721.P12 in file P12_001_ap.xml
Code
Select All
		<!-- NAV/GPS Toggle -->
		<Element id="NAV/GPS Toggle"><Select><Expression><Script>
			(A:GPS drives nav1, bool) 0 ==
				if{ (L:C01_001_SW2_ON, bool) 1 == if{ 1 (&gt;K:Toggle_GPS_drives_nav1) } }
				els{ (L:C01_001_SW2_ON, bool) 0 == if{ 1 (&gt;K:Toggle_GPS_drives_nav1) } }
		</Script></Expression></Select></Element>

I want to delete it because I use DX10 and tooltips do not work for me.
If I use the old type switch I have a visual reference of what mode I am in.

Thanks for the quick reply and your perseverance in improving this bird.

You really don't need a tooltip to see that a switch is in an 'up' position or 'down' position.
Just like the FD mod itself, it doesn't require tooltips to see that you're adjusting the command bars up or down.

For those of you that want to remove the 'old' switch if you've installed it:

Edit your panel.cfg for your particular 727 aircraft and locate the [Window03]
section. Delete the section in RED to remove the switch. If you want to keep the NAV/GPS light leave the MAGENTA line.
Remove both RED and MAGENTA lines to remove entirely.

[Window03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=447,106
position=2
visible=0
ident=10005
gauge00=Captain_Sim.p721.P12!P12_001_ap, 20,0, 427,106
gauge01=Cessna!Nav_GPS_Annunciator, 0,0,20,20
gauge02=Cessna!Nav GPS Switch, 0,20,20,20

If you're removing completely, edit the remaining section as follows:
[Window03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=427,106
position=2
visible=0
ident=10005
gauge00=Captain_Sim.p721.P12!P12_001_ap, 0,0, 427,106
