Winglets

Hi guys;

I'm having a problem regarding the addition of the winglets. I donwloaded a Amerijet repaint from Captain Sim library. It's a Nath's repaint, N905AJ.

Despite of being a another company Freighter, and on the thumbail the winglets appear, I can't do them appear at FSX.

I installed via ACE and "manually", and nothing works. At ACE, if I check "winglets" and then "Save", nothing happens.

What I'm doing wrong?

Any help will be appreciated.

If you change the model setting manually (model=another company) while the aircraft is loaded into FSX, or FSX is still running after having loaded the aircraft into it (before the change), then exit FSX, start FSX and see if the winglets appear.

FSX will hang onto the model for the aircraft as it was when you first loaded it into FSX for that session. Exiting and restarting FSx will start a new session with the correct model. Hopefully.

Hi Markoz.

Yes, I changed the model via ACE with FSX off. And installed the airplane with FSX off too. But no way. I have both Nath's Amerijet (N905AJ and N994AJ), and I have problem with both.

I can't change the model manually, because if I put "model=another company", both airplanes don't appear at FSX menu.

This is the "added" text of one of them, if I want to install manually:

[fltsim.XX]
title=CS 727-200F Captain PaintXX
sim=cs727200
model=f
panel=
sound=
texture=Amerijet N994AJ
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=N905AJ
atc_airline=Amerijet International
atc_flight_number=N994AJ
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=727-200 another company Freighter
ui_variation=Amerijet N994AJ, 2009 NP
ui_typerole=Commercial Airliner
ui_createdby=Nath2889
description=727 Captain: 727-200 ADDON Pack v2.0\n(c) 2009 Captain Sim www.captainsim.com Amerijet International 994. \n Repaint by NATH2889.\n
visual_damage=1

Maybe the trick is here, I don't know.

And of course, thank you very much for your help.

I tried numerous times to add the winglets manually and using the ACE and somehow managed to see the winglets on it in the preview (selecting details for it in the aircraft selection menu), but in FSX, they were not there. I also noticed that the ACE adds the line wglets=1 to the aircraft.cfg for the 727-200F:

[fltsim.2]
title=CS 727-200F Captain Paint2
sim=cs727200
model=f
panel=
sound=
texture=N905AJ
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=N905AJ
atc_airline=Amerijet International
atc_flight_number=N905AJ
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=727-200 another company Freighter
ui_variation=Amerijet N905AJ, 2009 NP
ui_typerole=Commercial Airliner
ui_createdby=Nath2889
visual_damage=1
ui_wglts=1
description="727 Captain: 727-200 ADDON Pack v2.4\n(c) 2011 Captain Sim www.captainsim.com Amerijet International 905. \n Repaint by NATH2889.\n"

but I still don't see them. I tried running the ACE using the "Run as administrator" option, but the winglets still don't show. Interestingly enough, adding winglets to the 727-100F another company and 727-100F another company/RE works fine. Beats me why it won't hold in the 727-200F another company. Sad

My advice would be to make sure that the ui_wglts=1 IS present in the 727-200F aircraft.cfg, and maybe one day they will suddenly decide to appear and stay there fr you. Undecided

Hi Markoz;

Yes, the "ui_wglts=1" is there. But like you, no way they appear. Anyway, at least I know there's nothing wrong only with my simulator.

Let's stay with the expectation that they appear one day.  Wink

Thank you very much for your help.

That's strange mine seem to work for the 200f, I'm painting one now. I'll have to go back and see my aircraft file.
