757 p3D

Hello,
I know cs not supporting p3D, however, just a question on experience from it. I tried that all seems to work well in cs757. However, internal cabin cannot be lighted (cockpit is OK...). Do you know it is because of p3D or could be some other problem ? Does anybody have the similar problem ?

P3D v1.4 or P3D v2? Yesterday I did a beautiful flight with the 752 in P3D v2 and the lighting worked fine (although the VC is darker than it is in FSX or P3D v1.4). It's some of the sounds that don't work, and I noticed that the DLL.xml file wasn't there. As it turned out, the DLL.xml file didn't appear until after I had installed FSUIPC4 v4.923, after that flight. Cheesy Grin

I don't recall having any problems in P3D v1.4, but I can always check, seeing as I still have v1.4 installed.

Edited:
I just checked in P3D v2, and the VC lighting doesn't work properly. It's probably too dark to begin with in v4.6 and P3D v2 only makes it worse. Using the floodlights enable me to see it to some degree. Yesterdays flight must have been just before night. Sad

This:

 <Launch.Addon>
     <Name>Captain Sim 757 Sound</Name>
     <Disabled>False</Disabled>
     <Path>Captain_Sim\757\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>

Needs to be added to the DLL.xml file. Open the run command and enter this (use copy and paste): %AppData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\DLL.XML and it will open the DLL.XML file.

Make sure you backup the original DLL.XML file before modifying it. And be sure that the </Launch.Addon> (the last line from the 757 sound entry) is ABOVE the LAST ENTRY LINE - </SimBase.Document> - in the DLL.XML. Like this:

 <Launch.Addon>
     <Name>Captain Sim 757 Sound</Name>
     <Disabled>False</Disabled>
     <Path>Captain_Sim\757\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

The sounds in the 757 should work after doing that. Wink

Mark,
it works perfectly now. Many thanks !
So now only the lights to be fixed..-)). It works for me only if I start some other plane before and only then cs757, then internal lights including navigation lights work... So perhaps there can be some initiation trick... ?

May I join in with a question?
I tried the CS752 in P3D V1.4, and it was fine but of course the v-speed gauge wouldn't work.
Has this been tried in P3DV2? I feel I can't fly my favourite CS aircraft without the v-speed gauges!
Thanks,
Fabio

What is it not doing? I have it installed with my 757 in P3D v1.4, but I don't actually use it. When I copied it to P3D v2, it was still there for the first flight, but I didn't use it, and because I had seen it thee, I then went and removed it (from v2). It's still installed in P3D v1.4 though.

I don't have P3D V1.4 installed any longer, for various reasons.
One reason was the Direct Sound DLL that it needs that isn't P3D compatible (I'm not near my PC at the moment, and the module name escapes me). The v-speed gauges I find are really important accessories for all my CS aircraft, and I couldn't happily get along without.

The cs.sound.dll for the Captain Sim 757 (and 767) works fine in both v1.4 and v2. You probably never copied the entry from the FSX DLL.xml file over to the P3D DLL.xml file. Don't worry though, you wouldn't be the first person hadn't done that, even I forgot to do that when I first installed P3D. Shocked Sad

How did you install it?

I have FSX version installed and I get two choices 1) repair or 2) uninstall.  When I try to point to P2 directory, it of course does not recognize that directory.

BTW, I looked to create a new topic, but had problems finding the invisible button.   Sad

I didn't actually "install" it in P3D, I copied everything from FSX to P3D. I did this for both version 1.4 and version 2.

However. There is a program called FSX to Prepar3D Migration Tool (updated for P3D v2), that can be used to install aircraft into P3D. It will install everything as it should be in P3D instead of FSX. I used an older version to test installing the CS Weather Radar into P3D v1.4, and it worked perfectly, but all my links in the Start Menu pointed to the P3D installation, so I had to repair the FSX version to get the links pointing to the FSX installation.

I haven't tried the latest version of FSX to Prepar3D Migration Tool yet, but I would expect it to work fine. Wink

Mark, others

another point to p3d and cs757... might sound little bit strange or too detailistic..however,
in clicking/turing knobs either on OH panel or main panel, it seems that in P3D it is somehow much slower and clicks in keyboard and/or touchpad must be with much higher time pauses in order to react by P3D than by FSX (even with very similar FPS). Do you know if cs757 has some .cfg file which can control this feature or behavior ??
many thanks !

Sorry, but I don't know of any way to improve/fix the response time problem, and I don't think there's anything in the aircraft.cfg or panel.cfg will make any difference either. It seems to happen on the P3D default aircraft too, so I've gotten used to the fact that it has slower response time. Undecided

understand, so will see if any fix/change can be done on p3D level.

However, trying to explore combination of P3D and cs757 furthermore..-))
Once I fly IFR flight and set-up flight via P3D it downloads to FMC of cs757 normally, however, many waypoints of different names are position on the same place (meaning, there are several waypoints 0 miles far from each other....). Do you think the difference in databases of waypoints is caused by P3D or cs757. Any way how to align those in your opinion... ?
regards !
