Don't worry, you're not bothering me at all. I've just had a few bad days, but everything should be okay now. Sad Smiley

DONE!

You can download it from here: CAPTAIN SIM 767 FMC TUTORIAL. The size of the file is about 1.5MB. Inside the ZIP file is a PDF file with the tutorial.

Hope this helps.

You're welcome.

Hope you get better soon. I also hope that the tutorial helps you to learn how to fly the Captain Sim 767.

The CS 767 is still my favourite modern airliner. Grin

Hi Mark,

I am really happy that I am instrumental for such a detailed and excellent tutorial on Captain 767 and its FMC from you. I am sure this tutorial will be of immense help to many who purchase this aircraft for the first time.

I could make out the mistake I was doing so far. I was  setting the Thrust in Takeoff Ref page as 60degrees as suggested by Aussie in his 757-200 FMC tutorial (Sep 10, 2008) and this was resulting in V1, VRand V2 in the range of 157 to 162. May be this was resulting in stalling immediately after take off. (Most of the time I would have almost reached the end of the runway before VR  is reached  Angry

Today I have tried a run exactly as per your tutorial - it was wonderful  all the way from KLAX up to SHAKE.  Then the localiser got locked and when I clicked the APP button and set the speed to 180knots the aircarft started swaying from left to right and over shot the runway !!

My present [Custom Autopilot] settings are :

AP_Roll_speed=3.80
AP_Roll_window=7
AP_Roll_controlstep=1500
AP_Roll_mincontrol=-15884
AP_Roll_maxcontrol=15884
AP_Pitch_speed=0.3
AP_Pitch_window=2.5
AP_Pitch_controlstep=50
AP_Pitch_mincontrol=-12200
AP_Pitch_maxcontrol=14200
AP_VS_speed=320
AP_VS_window=930
AP_VS_controlstep=0.9
AP_VS_mincontrol=-15
AP_VS_maxcontrol=30
AP_FLCH_speed=2
AP_FLCH_window=16

(mine being 1.5 version)

I am not sure what caused the above swaying. I will try again.

Mean while I want to thank you  again for the wonderful tutorial.

Up to capturing the GS it is absolutely fine. Then it starts swaying all the way from left to right and then over shoots runway / crashes !! Sad Sad

I can't understand why that happens.

Try making some changes to these three settings:

AP_Roll_speed=3.80
AP_Roll_window=7
AP_Roll_controlstep=1500

in the [Custom Autopilot] section. I pretty sure that others were changing them when they have that problem. It would be worth searching the 767 Captain - General forum for them. I never needed them, so I don't know exactly what they were changed to, nor where to find them. Sorry. Sad

After uninstalling and reinstalling thrice, now the rocking while landing has stopped. The installation procedures followed being the same all the three times, I still dont know what caused this rocking.

Thanks again Markoz for the wonderful tutorial !!

I don't know what causes it, but my Captain Sim 757 started doing it a while ago. All I did was run the installer and selected "Repair" and the 757 was fine again. My guess is that something else I may have installed messed it up.

I guess should check the CS 767, which I haven't flown for a while, to see if it may have been affected. Shocked

Have fun. Grin

Hi Again Mark,

I posted on the CS767-2.0 site 2 weeks ago, and you responded.  –THANK YOU.

I replied after researching a bit, that all went well after deactivating the UAC.

I've been looking up these posts to see if there's a solution...I guess this is the best place to ask...

So, now I updated the CS767-300 to 1.5 and I’ve lost the updated SIDS/STARS.  Their respective waypoints do appear on the FX Map, but the CDU no longer lists the updated SIDS/STARS, it only lists the older, outdated ones.

I have the AIRAC 1609 installed, BUT not from Navigraph.  It’s from HervĂ© Sors
aero.sors.fr a freeware that obviously worked at some point, because I saw the updated SIDS/STARS previous to updated to 1.5.

I uninstalled both the updated AIRAC and the 767 1.5 and reinstalled…to no avail.

You mentioned FSX\Captain_Sim\navigation folder but, I can’t see where those files are…I’m not sure what the files should look like, or their extensions in Navigation…

Or, are there registry entries that need to be made??

Any insight would be appreciated….

Again, THANK YOU for your time!

I checked out the Hervé Sors website for information, and it actually updates FSX and P3D by replacing the .BGL files that contain all the information for the FSX/P3D Map and GPS (Waypoints, VOR's, NDB's, etc.) and so it has nothing to do with the 767 CDU. If you create a flight plan using the default FSX Flight Planner, it will use the data from the Hervé Sors updated files.

The CS 767 CDU/FMS uses the AIRAC information, that is installed at the same time, and that information is in the FSX\Captain_Sim\navigation folder.

Hi Mark...So, after identifying the files, I noticed they were never updating in Captain_sim/navigation.  Finally, I just bought the Navigraph update and - Voila!  It's fine.

Long story short...Don't cheap out if you want life to be easier...Thanks sooooo much for your time!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just bought the 767 and tried to download Markoz' tutorial, and I am getting a "problem loading page" error.  Is there another link to download this?
