Sperry 177 preview

Print Post
As much as me, many pilots are eager to get the 737 with the Sperry 177 autopilot module.

I don't have FSX yet but when I do I would certainly get the 737 and 707, for now I've edited a photo taken from a friend that has your 737  and adapted it for my FS9 737 I made with the Sperry 177 I like

I'm pretty sure this will give you a good idea of how nice would be for you guys to develop this model.

Thanks!!

I have added the 2D A/P panel from the default 737-800 that comes with FSX, and with a few tweaks of the aircraft.cfg, it works quite well. It's still cheating though. Cheesy Grin

It would be nice if they would do it though. Wink

Canadian North's C-GKCP 737-200Adv uses the Sperry 177. As does a few of the Combi's. The older system is like sleeping with the airbus on your Boeing wife. I'd rather cheat with a Sukhoi RJ Smiley

For me this would be the ultimate 737 panel. I would never need another 732. As I said before, even if a 177 upgrade was a payware upgrade I would get it. Or if CS would add the 177 option to the ADV upgrade then, and only then, would I buy the ADV.

I would agree with Bud, I would put some money on this. First off we need a service pack to fix up all the loose ends on the first release.

Yes, the SP177 and perhaps some GPS unit (fitting to the airliner character) in the -ADV would be a treat.

Nice pic, for me the 177 is enough. Loads of planes out there with FMS/FMC's.

I agree! More than enough aircraft out there with FMC's. But that Sperry 177 in the 737-200ADV would be really nice for sure. Grin

My only wish, in regard to the autopilot, is a repair for the FD in the current one. Radio navigation is kind of fun, and quite challenging and the FD would help a lot.

Sperry 177 option

I would like to see a sperry 177 option with the Captain Sim 737-200adv to add a more realistic touch to it because the real 737-200adv's have both options and Cayman Airways operated both.

I sincerely hope that CS will add this to the 732ADV as well, because so many people seem to want it and it adds a nice modern touch to the cockpit. Plus it seems like many of the 732ADV aircraft flying today have the 177 installed anyway.

Another developer created a 737-200 that offers both Sperry autopilot systems. I'm surprised that CS hasn't created an expansion pack to offer this as an option in addition to a basic FMS or Bendix GPS unit. Flying the 737 in its classic form is fun, but at the end of the day, people like flying aircraft in a more modern and realistic manner. Wasn't there a plan from the very beginning to offer the Sperry 177?

I think customers will appreciate an expansion that offers this virtual cockpit layout.

I have that other one and it is nowhere near as good as this one! It would be nice to have an expansion pack including the Sperry 177, Gravel Kit, and true combi with the option to select ULD's or seat pallets and a rear airstair.
