Trim and Center of Gravity Gauge

Setting the CG value in the CDU and then trying to interpret the graphical value has always been a bit of a guessing game for me.

I recently started programming XML gauges and came up with this simple but useful gauge to address this issue.

How it works:
You simply enter the CG value that's displayed on the very lowest right (see image) into the CG line (LSK 4R).
Adjust the elevator trim normally until the value matches the calculated CDU value. No more guessing.

The trim display accuracy of the gauge is within the green band trim section only (0.5 to 7.0 trim units).

I'm posting here first to see if there's any interest in this gauge. Please let me know!

To install this gauge:

Place CG_Trim.xml in your CS 757-200 panel directory.

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5Daz07NnS0JU1dhXzg4V0dTMzJMeXlPX3dHNmJHdw

Change/add the following lines in red to the panel.cfg located in your CS 757-200 panel directory:

[Window06]
Background_color=16,16,16
size_mm=447, 725
position=2
visible=0
zorder=85
ident=12105
windowsize_ratio=1.00
gauge00=Captain_Sim.b757.fms!cdu, 0,  0, 447, 699
gauge01=!CG_Trim,0,699

Please provide comments or suggestion!

I'm certain it can work with only slight modifications. Although I don't recall there being much of an issue with the 767...I'll have to look into that.

The 757 CG works very well in v4.6, but it somehow missed being corrected in the 767 v1.5 update (it is the same as it was in v1.4).

I have updated this gauge to display red when outside of the 0.5 to 7.0 trim unit range.

Marty:

Thanks for the gauge!  Not a biggie.  I found for my flight that the CG was 26.8 and when I entered it I got an "invalid entry."  If I rounded it to 27 I got 4.20.  So I guess the entry has to be a rounded 2 digit value to work properly.

Yes, that's correct...a limitation of the CDU, not the gauge. Only whole numbers can be entered.
