Flightsim Commander and CS 767

Hi,

normaly I create a flight with Flightsim Commander. This works fine for another company and another company. But does it also work with the CS 767? And if yes, how? I don`t want to switch here to the MS Flightplaner. Has anybody checked if the CS 767 works with FS Commande? Please let me know.

Thank you!

regards

Fabian

Hi Fabian.

No you can't create a flight plan and save it as a CS 757/767 FMC flight plan.

What I do is create the plan using FSC, then use the info from that plan to add to the 767 FMC. I also use FSC9 to work out the best SID, STAR and TRANS for my flight plan as well.

Hope this helps.

You can't save directly in the CS format from inside FSC, but you can save it as FSX plan and then import it into the CS FMC with the REQUEST function.

Quote:
On the real aircraft, selecting this prompt sends a datalink route request. In the simulated FMC this prompt opens the SELECT CO RTE page listing all previously saved routes. You can navigate the list pages using the NEXT PAGE and PREV PAGE keys. Selecting any route from the list loads this route into the FMC.

The FLTSIM FPLS on the bottom of SELECT CO RTE page opens IMPORT FS FPL page. This page lists all flight plans (.FPL files)  created and saved by  the Flight Simulator built-in flight planner. Selecting any entry imports the corresponding flight plan waypoints into the FMC.

Hi CoolIP,

how do I save it as FSX Plan (where?) and which format is the right one to use it with the CS 767?

Hi Mark,

how do I import SIDS and StARS from the FSC?

Thanks!

Fabian

Well, FSC has a save dialog where you can check/uncheck the formats you'd like to see.
First, you have to set up the corresponding folders for each format (as they are intended for different addons), which includes to point to the "Flight Simulator X Files" for the FSX format. Check the FSC manual on how to do this, it's easy.

That's the FSC9 dialog there, the one from version 8.x did not have native FSX flight plan format support, if I remember correctly.
But that's no problem, just save it in the "Flight Simulator X Files" folder either way. The import feature on the CS FMC may also work with those files and if not, you can simply convert them to FSX plans by opening them in the FSX flight planner ("load") and then instantly saving them again. It will ask you if you want to overwrite the file, click yes.
Just make sure to not leave that folder, Flight Simulator X Files, since this is the one where the FMC looks for the files to import then.
FSX can read both formats, FS9 and FSX, but only saves as FSX native plans.

how do I import SIDS and StARS from the FSC?
If your FSC plan did include SID and STAR procedures, they will be exported too. Check the manual of FSC again on how to add them to your plan.

I'm pleased to hear that it's now working for you Fabian.

I never thought to do it that way because I don't do it that way (at least not for the Captain Sim 757/767) myself. My way is to create the plan, figure out the SID, STAR and TRANS, then create the plan using the CS757/767 FMC. Then I save it using the FMC "save route" feature. I add the SID, STAR and TRANS later on. That way I can reuse the route using different SID, STAR and TRANS.

I shall add a suggestion in the 767 Captain - It'd be nice if... forum for the ability of saving FSC routes in Captain Sim 757/767 route format. This will, mostly likely, include the same ability for upcoming 777 Captain (Base Pack). Wink

Mark

NOTE: Here is a reply to a question, in the another company forums, where I asked about he ability to add both a STAR and a TRANS to the FSC9 flight plans (which at the moment, as you know, is not possible):

Mark, nothing is wrong with what you're doing or with your installation. This is a bug that is not easy to solve, but according to the developers, will hopefully fixed in version 9.1 (Posted 27 May 2011 - 03:42 AM)

So hopefully that isn't too far off

Hi Mark,

after a long absence from the flightsimulator I have to bring this up again. Meanwhile I use P3D and the CS 777l. I still use FSC9 and do not know if both work together? Where do I have to put the FSC9 flight plan to use it in the CS 777? How does the file ends? (Which format do the flight plans from CS and the ones fromP3D use?) Where Do I have to install these files? Sorry for bothering you again with this questions? Thanks for your help and have furtherone a great time in the Philippines.

Best,
Fabian

You need to save the Flight Plans to the Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files folder, or save to the Documents\Flight Simulator X Files folder then copy them across to the Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files folder (depending on where the CDU/FMC looks for the plans), then load them into the CDU/FMC. Do not save the plans with the SID/STAR, but use FSC to show you which SID/STAR to use for your flight(s).
