cabin altitude horn and CDU/FMS problem

Hi guys,

I'm having some problems with this plane in fsx.
When going above a certain altitude the cabin altitude light goes on and the horn starts beeping. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

The mode select is on auto 1, and the auto rate is on the little gray arrow.

Also I'm having problems with the FMS. I manage to fill in my route and take off. The plane follows the route very nicely, but after a while somehow the autopilot appears to disconnect from the FMS and the plane just starts turning. I tried disengaging the auto pilot and reengaging it but nothing seems to work. LNAV and VNAV are on.

Cabin altitude probably means that you have turned off the packs. You need packs for cabin pressure

Wims

I thought the cabin pressure and altitude were out to lunch. With the Cabin Altitude Controls set to auto I get an altitude of around FL230 in the cabin at cruise altitude. I was just hauling stiffs in the cabin and using oxygen masks on the flight deck. Since then I have started setting the Mode Selet to manual as opposed to Auto 1 or Auto 2, playing with theClimb and Descend switch, and controlling the desired cabin altitude by adjusting the landing altitude to whatever cabin altitude is required Just another minor CS 752 issue along with a hundred others.. Kind of makeshift but everyone is still alive.

Just out of curiosity, were you the Wims that was banned from Avsim Forums for postings on the 737NGX threads?

Hmm I just did another flight and this time the warning horn didn't go on. I'm not really sure what I did to avoid this warning this time.

Also the FMS followed my plan nicely this time.

Might it be related to the fact that I alt tab out of the game of press ctrl+enter to minimize or maximize?
Also something that I probably did wrong was to turn my apu off while I was in flight (I forgot about it on the ground)...

I run FSX in windowed mode for the exact reason of having to press CTRL+ENTER to return it to full screen. Doing that never affected any of my flights. I doubt that it will.

All the APU will do when it is on, during a flight, is consume more fuel as well as provide more power (possibly). I use ground power and ground air when parked, so I rarely turn the APU on. I start the engines using ground air.

Thanks for replying Markoz.
So then I don't really know what I did to 'break' the FMC.

I just did another flight and when I almost reached FL310 the plane just stalled and fell out of the sky. The speed was good, about 250-300 kts. :/
