This isn't a fuel management question just trying to get some action on my questions and this is the most recently used forum.

Hey guys have a few problems with 727.  I have no sounds in the cockpit for any switches or the apu.  I only get engine sounds.  Also the flight director and autopilot will not work.   When I flip a switch on either one they just snap back to the off position.  Won't do heading hold altitude hold and the GPS/NAV switch does nothing.  The alieron and elevator paddles do stay on but with no control.   Haven't had these problems before.   I do have ASN and sim physics running as well as air hauler.

Hi davis20.

It sounds to me like the Activation didn't work correctly. Reinstall the 727 Base Pack, and select "Repair", then start FSX, and see if they are working. If that doesn't fix the problem, then will need to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of the 727 Base Pack as described in KB #685. This requires the removal of the p727 entry in the Windows Registry, then when you reinstall, you need to activate it again (I recommend using the Manual Offline Activation method), and that should fix the problem.

---------------------------------------------------

KB #685:

Q: How to reinstall a product?

A:
Quite a number of "issues" are caused by using of outdated version of a product. Prior to submitting a support request please make sure you have current version of a product.

To reinstall a product please perform the following steps in exact order:
Uninstall the product:
1. Go to Start> Programs> Captain Sim.
2. Select the product you wish to uninstall.
3. Click uninstall icon.

Install the product:
4. Make sure you have the latest version of the product
5. Run the product installer (the .exe file) and follow the prompts.
Please note: valid Order Number and Internet connection are required for installation/activation.

Please make sure you run the installation file as Administrator and that "User Account Control" is disabled (for Vista and Windows7), it limits admins ability to install programs.

If regular reinstall did not fix your problem you can try to clean registry.
Please be careful and do it on your own risk!

How to clean Registry:
1. Uninstall the product
2. Go to Start> Run. Type: regedit, click OK.
3. Find the product entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\ (please note, for Windows 64bit versions it is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\)
For example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\C130XPRO
Make sure you are going to delete correct folder!
4. Delete the product entry folder.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Install the product.

If you stil have issues and the above does not help we must admit your system configuration is a rare exception. You can try to install the product on another system or request a refund.

From: General / Download/Installation (QID 685)

---------------------------------------------------

The part that you need to follow, very carefully, is under How to clean Registry:. It is there that you need to remove the p727 entry.

After doing the above I now have all the sounds.   However the autopilot and flight director still do not work.   It's like the switches are spring loaded.   I hit the switch and the immediately such back off.

Figured it out.   It was a cold and dark problem (avionics  switch)  loaded the 172 turned on the avionics re saved and good to go

I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted out.

With most Captain Sim aircraft, I start off with the Cold and dark C172, but with the Avionics Switch ON. This prevents the Avionics from being OFF on their aircraft that don't have an Avionics Switch.
