yes! see the picture
1:turn on this button
2:right/left click this button until you see the radar

if still no success, try installing FSUIPC4

All right except one thing: this product does not use FSUIPC at all.

really? NICE! One of the first planes to use NO FSUIPC at all. Keep up the good work. I wish our company products could even come close to competing with yours!

The 707 doesn't use FSUIPC either.

I find that the setting of the Brightness Knob (50) gives me a very nice clear, not to bright view on the EVS Monitor. I also find that the best quality image is by switching the Mode Selector Switch to MAP. I guess if you are using an LCD monitor, the angle (tilt) and the Picture settings will have an affect on what setting is best.

Hi Turbfandude,

I tried right/left clicking the button (B)...tuns the button left/right only and no radar. You mentioned step one, turn the button on...I don't see any way of turning the B button on...just controls right/left motion. I'm can't seem to locate the other button behind the seat. Am I missing something? I already have FSUIPC4 installed.  Thanks for the info...hope you have other ideas I could try.

try using the button labeled 1 in the pic on the copilots side then, they work together. Don't feel bad, I still can't find the transponder!

What are we supposed to be seeing through that "radar" anyway?
Is that the ground or straight ahead?

What use is it at 30,000ft

The B-52 Transponder (yellow circle) is on the Pilots Side Panel. The green circles are for Mode 3/A (civilian) codes.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TRANSPONDER THING! I've been trying to find that for a week! It sure made flying on VATSIM kind of hard!

There sure is a use for the radar at 30,000ft.  I am currently going through CSO (navigator) school for the USAF.  We are learning how to use the radar to navigate, among other things.  You can use references from the radar, be it terrain, water or cities to help guide you on your route.  (DR Navigation) I am not familiar with the system on the B-52 sim, but I would imagine the real B-52 can use its radar to help rendevous with tankers as well as paint skin reflections on other aircraft.  As a side note, it would be awesome to use an INS system to cordinate with the currently installed radar.

Hey Supersonic1981,
I'm a 1970 vintage navigator on C-130s and KC-135s. We learned the ancient stuff such as celestial, Loran A, pressure differential, measuring drift angle and groundspeed using a downward-looking tube with crosshairs, Doppler and 1950s airborne radar. INS was only for MAC and GPS was an impossible dream. Does the AF still teach celestial navigation, or is it all radar/INS/GPS?  I hope DR is still the basis of navigation.

I was asking about the CS B-52 radar, not the real thing.

All I see is a terrain picture that doesn't match the actual terrain in front of the aircraft.

Is it functional or just for looks?

It certainly looks like the radar in mine displays the correct terrain in front of the plane.
