NEW AND IMPROVED!  Added "light_light" to softly illuminate underside of forward fuselage when nose gear lights are on.

[LIGHTS]

light.1 = 2, -33.50, -53.10, -2.50, fx_shockwave_navwhi
light.2 = 2, -33.50, 53.10, -2.50, fx_shockwave_navwhi
light.3 = 2, -28.25, -53.15, -2.49, fx_shockwave_strobe
light.4 = 2, -28.25, 53.15, -2.49, fx_shockwave_strobe
light.5 = 2, 23.40, 0.00, 7.20, fx_shockwave_beaconh
light.6 = 2, 1.05, 0.00, -7.20, fx_shockwave_beaconh
light.7 = 4, 50.00, -2.50, 0.70, cs727_vclight
light.8 = 4, 48.50, 0.00, 1.00, cs727_vclight
light.9 = 5, 9.50, 6.10, -2.90, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave light
light.10 = 5, 9.50, -6.10, -2.90, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave light
light.11 = 9, -20.00, -52.00, -4.50, cs727_voda
light.12 = 9, -20.00, 52.00, -4.50, cs727_voda
light.13 = 5, 43.00, 0.00, -9, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow
light.14 = 5, -3, 22.5, -4, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave light
light.15 = 5, -3, -22.5, -4, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave light
light.16 = 5, 70, 0.00, -8, fx_shockwave_landing_light_light

for Shockwave lights, don't forget to put this in the VCockpit01 section of the panel config to turn off when gear goes up:

gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

Hi Tim:

The lights fit perfectly, but there are two issues.

On the lights section, "Light.16" should read:

light.16 = 6, 43.00, 0.00, -9, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow

Instead of 5 it should be 6 so the system would recognized it as a taxi light and don't turn off all the landing lights when gear is raised.

And the panel section should read as:
gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_taxi_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

if "taxi" is not added between "Lights" and "gear" the taxi light will remain on after gear is raised. That is what tell the simulator the taxi lights are on a retractable gear and not a fixed one.

Otherwise great work.

Thanks Tim.

They do (as the others have mentioned) look really nice. I'll give them a try. Much appreciated.

Mark,

I tried making it a taxi light, but then it would not turn off when the gear raised, despite the line in the panell config.  I'll try your panel config line.  Thanks!

By the way, I only added the outboard lights on the wing and the nose gear taxi light and changed the inboard landing lights to narrow to reduce banding.  I found the rest posted second-hand without attribution.

Mark Ferradini, I tried your edits and the light did not disappear after the gear went up.  When I switched things back, it did.

I'm still tweaking.  I think the first four entries probably need to go since wing flex leaves them unattached to anything.  I am also wondering if the cockpit lighting is bright enough.  Finally, anyone want to take a stab at the scattered light on the underside of the fuselage?

The 727, with two landing lights on the wing root and two more on the wing, is made for Shockwave 3D lights.

Just so its clear to others, if the gear light is identified as a landing light, it will go off with the gauge entry.

@Tim:

Just put your cfgs to work, they seem perfect on my CS B727-100's (regular and freight variants). Tried them on the -200 and they seemed fine, which is surprising to me since I thought the -200 was longer and hence would have different light-placement offsets...

All the LL's seem to come on at once even though there are 4 separate LL switches in the cockpit- probably a MSFS limitation, and doesn't bother me much since it seems dumb to just turn on, for example, the right outboard and the left inboard...  Lips Sealed

So thank you for your work, my 3-holers look a lot better now!
