Dear Tanya I'm trying to get a banner into my profile...All I get is the URL in my signature...? No picture of the 727 cockpit? Can you assist?
I've copied and pasted as intructed in the brief intructions here in the general forum. But The image just doesn't show? Undecided

Hi Bernardo.

Here is how you do it:

How to use:

  1. COPY the URL line below a banner you like
  2. Open 'Edit profile' section of your forum and PASTE the URL into the 'Signature' box.

Please note that some forums may require to add .... tags.

Now I'll show you an example using the first 727 Banner:

I select the image as my signature banner.
Then I copy the http://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/x727/b721captain.jpg underneath it. You can should be able to copy the link by clicking the RIGHT mouse button (while the mouse pointer is over the url link) and select "Copy link location" from the menu box that pops up.
I then paste the copied link between these: [url][/url] so that ONLY the banner image shows up in my signature.
So the end result should look like this:
Code
Select All
[img]http://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/x727/b721captain.jpg[/img]

I placed it inside a code box to show how it should look, otherwise all you will see is the image. Like this:
which is EXACTLY what you want others to see in your Forum Signature.

This is the way it works. You don't need the image, just a link that points to the image.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Hi Berlopez,

Don't bother to thank me. I see Mark was right. I thought there was not room for "large" signatures, e.g. images + text. That was the reason why I suggested to remove the text, to make room for your banners.

Pinatubo.
