SadSurely I'm doing something wrong here).
I loaded form my LOAD in my vista FSX installation
Flight 727-100 Cleared for take off (KSEA).
It loads in three D cockpit with no sounds, Had to load it twice to get the sounds to work  Lips Sealed

Hi Bernardo.

The 727-100 Cleared for take off (KSEA) file can be found in My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files (Documents\Flight Simulator X Files for Vista/Win7 users).

Try opening (right click then select open) the one in Documents\Flight Simulator X Files and NOT the one in FSX\Captain_Sim\727\flights. It should open with FSX automatically.

There are three files named 727-100 Cleared for takeoff (KSEA). The first is a .FLT, the second is a .FSSAVE and the third is .WX. Do the right click method on the 727-100 Cleared for take off (KSEA).FSSAVE. Most users have Hide extensions for known file types enabled. In fact, Windows does this automatically and that is why, so may only see three 727-100 Cleared for take off (KSEA). Because Windows lists same named files numerically then alphabetically, it will flow on to the file extension, the order should be .FLT, then .FSSAVE and then .WX. So it is the second one you do. Even if you have reverse listed it, it WILL always be the second one. i.e. WX, FSSAVE  then FLT.

Just as a side note. It is possible that the .FLT will also open FSX by default. I'm just not 100% sure because my .FLT files open in notepad by default and I can't remember if I changed it. If it needed to be changed I WOULD have changed it.

Hope this helps.

Yes. Have only tried the cabin announcements a couple times but many don't seem to work.

With v2.4 it has been found that you need to reload the 727 again after you first start with it, then the sounds work fine.

The best way is to save a flight with the 727 (or use the 727-100 Cold-n-Dark (KSEA)) and start it directly to avoid going int the start menu in FSX. The sounds work fine from the start then. It's the only "fix" I know of.

See my reply (#13) in this topic.

UndecidedDarn it! I shouldn't have spoken too soon.
I got the McAfee bug in my sys. even though I ran Vista32...Upon first recommendation by McAfee I sent my computer for formatting and installing instead of vista; XP home edition.Yes I have had  to redownload a lot of my hangar amogst others cap727_2.4; Which I just did... I had saved the installer to a memory stick and ran that, until I realized the sounds were not working?...
So I redownloaded a new version and have just installed...The sounds don't work here either  Huh NO alt.Alerter,Safety belt,No smoking sounds etc...

It's been sometime since I installed 727 and all the changes that have been done to it...I'm probably missing something. I would very much appreciate if someone who comes across this post would help me refresh my memory and guide me regarding this issue.

Thanks in advance.

This is a very nice Aircraft, but cockpit sounds don't work (Window 7 64Bit) "msvcr71.dll" copy to FSX rootdir and changing in "sound.ini" also don't help.

Here is a HD video. I have today upload Wink
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9-TOFWt9T0

Have a nice flight

I have Windows 7 64bit and I have done those things (except the "msvcr71.dll" copy because my Windows 7 didn't like it) to get the sounds. I now have two methods I use for getting the sounds to work:

1. After starting the flight with the 727, reload the aircraft and the sounds are there.

2. Start FSX directly from a saved flight with the 727. e.g. 727-100 Cold-n-Dark (KSEA). The sounds are there right from the start. I have my Microsoft Flight Simulator X shortcut pinned to the Start Menu and it will show the last 10 files (flights) that I used to start FSX with. You can also change how many of the files you want to display up to 30. Mine is set at 15.

See what I mean?

I hope this helps.

Yeah. I'm sure it is. This wasn't a problem in v2.3 but it is in v2.4. Hopefully Captain Sim will fix it in v2.5, as I'm sure they are aware that most (maybe even all) of us have this problem. Wink

Hello Mark: As I haved PMed you. I still can't recieve e-mails? I have installed win7 on my computer and FSX SP2 Wow! Beautiful graphics and my GC doesn't give me any problems here.
I went on to install 727-100 V2.4 and check it out....No cabin sounds, even after loading it twice or even three times, Noticed the windows don't make the sliding sound...Alt.Alerter,signs etc...No cockpit/Cabin sounds at all. I haven't touched any of the .cfgs' or .ini sound files. Shouldn't be nessesary with V2.4?Mendoza says above that copying the msvcr71.dll to FSX root folder didn't help him either and he has a 64 bit system. I just did a search in my computer for the msvcr71.dll and it found 5 in win.old...I copied one of them and pasted to FSX root folder....And I got the sounds Alt.Alert, safetysigns etc... I had tried see below...
I uninstalled via the uninstaller...Then reinstalled via my saved installer and activated "now" via internet...Still no sounds Alt.Alert signs clicks; Flaps do sound. Ís there anything you can suggest?
Assuming that no changes are to be made in this version V2.4 in the ´sound.ini file. Mine is set at 1 and I just tried to set it to 0 as adviced in the KB...Couldn't save the file it says: "Access Denied"??? I'm opening the file with Notepad.I wonder why I couldn't edit via Notepad, though? I'm trying to add the GPS/NAV switches form the Cessna that wereincluded to make it fly/Fallow GPS. Notepad won't let me save the changes; Is there a securty setting in win7 one has to edit or what?
