Hi again Matt.

Have you tested the EPR fix? Does it work with the performance charts?

I'v been testing and don't work properlly for me.

BTW, do you have a gauge for the TAT? I cant find one, so I'm trying to create one.

Javier -

I haven't tried the EPR fix against anything official.  I use it just because it spreads out the EPR range on the gauge.

I'm  headed over to download the update and see what we've got in there!

Matt: Just to recap. I now am able to fly the 727-200 and freighter models, like you mentioned before, it was an activation issue... For some reason I installed it and did not activated it?! Huh

Second, I was able to use the NAV/VOR for a minute or so, when I was approaching Dallas Intl, last night, but I was off the runway by a bit... I am still understanding all of this, I was hoping this would be more easily... If I want to follow the pink line on the GPS, I have to use NAV/VOR ON and not heading on OFF position, correct? PLease don't be mad if you think I don't care enough to read all the manuals...  I find reading all the terms too complicated  Undecided

third, thanks!!

Aircanada -

Yes, to follow your GPS plan you need:

- Autopilot ON
- Mode: NAV LOC (+Altitude Hold is OK too)
- Nav/GPS switch: GPS.

If you have it configured like this, and you are reasonably close to the pink line you should track it!

Glad you got that activation figured out!

No, you have to add it to the AP or GPS window by following my instructions...good luck!

LOL - breathe into the paper bag...you will be OK Smiley

I meant some directions that are admittedly buried in my posts and download file. Here's what you need to do:

***To add the NAV/GPS button to the Autopilot window, replace the text for [window03] with the text below.  Note that this is for the 727-100 (passenger); the others will have a slightly different gauge00= line, so copy and paste the gauge00 line from what was there:

[Window03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=427,130
position=2
visible=0
ident=10005
gauge00=Captain_Sim.p721.P12!P12_001_ap, 0,0, 427,106
gauge01=Cessna!Nav_GPS_Annunciator,                   400, 106, 24, 22
gauge02=Cessna!Nav GPS Switch,                          376, 106, 24, 22

or:

***To add the button to the GPS popup window, replace the text for [Window05] with the text below (will work on all versions):

[Window05]
size_mm=456,403
window_size=0.4
position=8
background_color=0,0,0
visible=0
ident=GPS_PANEL
gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500,0,25
gauge01=Cessna!Nav_GPS_Annunciator,                     400, 106, 24, 22
gauge02=Cessna!Nav GPS Switch,                          376, 106, 24, 22

Let me know if you run into any problems!

I've gathered up the following Mods/Fixes/Instructions for the FSX 727 that have been identified by the FlightSim community:

- Autopilot Mod (by me)
- EPR Gauge Mod (code fix by Michael2, gauge compiled by me)
- VSI Gauge Fix (by me)
- Altimeter Fix (code fix by COL Bob Scott, gauges compiled by me)
- Flap Handle VC marking fix (by me)
- Fuel Crossfeed Instructions (written by JETPILOT)
- NAV/GPS Button Instructions (by me)

They are available in a zip here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ee4d96516fc71160ab1eab3e9fa335ca5484252731ec8...

CaptainSim, if you want me to delete it I will...but I figured this would encourage folks to keep buying and flying the 727 until the next official update comes out.

Update:

With the release of version 2.3, most of my mods/fixes listed above are no longer applicable. The fixes that I am personally still using are:

- Revised altimeters ('rollover fix' eliminates ambiguous readings when altitude hold set at whole thousand-foot increments)
- MDA light fix (Square 'MDA' light shines when decision height reached)
- Nav/GPS button added to Autopilot 2D panel
- GPWS fix ( I set all warnings to chime at -1500 feet/minute or greater to eliminate "Don't Sink" on approach)
- JETPILOT's Fuel Crossfeed instructions still apply

I have put these items in a "727_Version_2.3_Mods" folder at the same link above and removed the old content.  If you have the altimeter & MDA light fixes from the old folder you should not need to download the new ones.

Happy New Year!

Matt, should be -1000 feet, not -1500. Rates of descent over -1000fpm below 1000ft AGL are prohibited. That should give the most realistic performance.

LOL I am in a heap of trouble then  Shocked

Frankly I just matched it to the other sinkrate numbers in the section...didn't think too much about whether it made any sense!

Anybody wanting realistic GPWS warnings should change the descent rates to reflect Launchbury's earlier in this thread:

[GPWS]
max_warning_height         =  1200
sink_rate_fpm              = -1500
excessive_sink_rate_fpm    = -2000
climbout_sink_rate_fpm     = -1000
flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -1000

Regardless, here's wishing everyone a "Granite Cloud Free" New Year!
Thanks!

Thanks!!!! This is important to have it up to date!!!!.

I will add to that list, the DME distance for Nav2.

Javier -

Looks like they included your mod in 2.3.  On my system (2.3), the copilot's digital readout displays DME2.
